Is This You?

Who Is This For?

Who This Is For:

  • You own a state-licensed dispensary, grow or manufacturing business doing $1M+ a year.
  • Your federal tax bill comes in bigger than what the business actually kept, because 280E won't let you deduct rent, payroll or marketing.
  • Your books run on a cash basis, or inventory gets counted whenever somebody finds the time.
  • Your accountant files once a year with whatever the books hand them, and nobody plans the bill ahead of time.
  • You sell medical, adult-use or both, and you want to know what Schedule III really changes for your 2026 bill.
  • You'd rather hand off the monthly books and the tax work than learn Section 280E yourself.

This Is Not For:

  • Your business does under $1M a year.
  • You don't hold a state cannabis license, or you only need a personal return filed.
  • You want aggressive allocations that won't hold up if the IRS asks for proof.
  • You only want a return filed once a year, with no monthly books or planning in between.

100% Done-For-You

Here's Everything We Do For You

Here's how James runs the accounting and tax side of a cannabis business, from the monthly close to the filed return.

We Run Your Monthly Close

We close your books every month with reconciliations and variance analysis, so your reports explain what's really happening in the business instead of handing you a stack of numbers.

We Map Your Cost Of Goods

We map and allocate every cost that belongs in cost of goods across cultivation, manufacturing and retail, because it's the one deduction Section 280E still lets you take.

We Put Your Books On Accrual

We move your books to accrual and set up inventory methods that hold up, so your cost of goods is built from real counts instead of guesses at filing time.

We Project Your Taxes Quarterly

Every quarter we project what you'll owe and adjust when profit swings, and we review your owner pay and entity setup, so April and December never blindside you.

We Forecast Around Your Grow

We build your projections around your actual flower calendar (veg, flower, harvest) and batch yields, plus a 12-week cash runway so you always know where the business stands.

We File With Proof Behind It

We prepare and e-file your return with workpapers backing every number and keep your documentation organized, so if the IRS ever asks for proof, it's already in the file.

Still On The Fence?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to replace my current accountant?+
No, and nobody's going to ask you to fire anyone before we talk. On the call, we look at the return your accountant already filed, how cost of goods was calculated and what didn't make it in. Some owners then hand us the monthly books and the tax work completely, and others take time to decide.
Doesn't Schedule III make 280E go away?+
Not for everyone yet. Marijuana sold under a state medical license moved to Schedule III this spring, but adult-use sales are still under 280E as of the latest reporting, and Treasury and the IRS plan to issue guidance on how businesses that sell both split their costs. Either way, clean accrual books and documented costs are what let you claim every dollar the rules allow.
Will a bigger cost of goods number draw attention from the IRS?+
There's no loophole out of 280E, and we don't use aggressive allocations. Cost of goods is the one deduction the law leaves you, so we build it from accrual books, inventory you can prove and workpapers behind every number. If anyone asks how a number was built, the answer is already in the file.
How does the guarantee work?+
If your cannabis business doesn't save at least $100K in taxes this year, you don't pay us for the work. We'll walk through how the savings are counted for your business on the call, before any work starts.
What does it cost?+
Cannabis clients typically pay $3,500 to $15,000 a month for full accounting and tax planning. The fee is a percentage of revenue, so it scales with the size of your business, and fixed-fee options are available. You'll know your exact number before any work starts, with no hidden fees.
Is it too late to lower this year's taxes?+
No, but the window is closing. Anything that changes your 2026 bill has to be in place before December 31st, and the savings show up when the return is filed. That's why we start with your books now instead of waiting for April.
Have you done this for a cannabis business before?+
Yes. Cannabis is the heart of James's practice, and our Section 280E planning saved one cannabis operator $76,561. James has also written about what 280E really costs operators in Fat Nugs Magazine.
What happens in the first month?+
In week 1 you get access to a secure client portal and upload your documents. In week 2 we review your financials, in week 3 we walk you through the plan, and in week 4 we start putting it in place. After that, we check in with you every quarter.
One Last Step

Want To See What 280E Is Really Costing Your Business This Year?

On the strategy call, James looks at how your books handle cost of goods today and compares last year's federal bill to what the business actually kept. Then he shows you what he'd change before December 31st and whether it's a fit.
